This policy explains what information launched.tools ("we", "us", "our") collects when you use the directory at launched.tools, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run an honest, useful directory.

Information we collect
Information you give us
- Tool submissions — the tool name, URL, category, description, and the email address you provide when submitting a tool for review.
- Newsletter — your email address, if you choose to subscribe.
- Messages — anything you send us by email or a contact form, and our reply.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs — our hosting providers record standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, to keep the service secure and reliable.
- Analytics — we may use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics to understand overall traffic. We do not use cross-site advertising trackers.
- Local storage — your light/dark theme choice is stored in your own browser. It never leaves your device.
How we use your information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the directory.
- To review, categorize, and publish tool submissions, and to contact you about your submission.
- To send the newsletter, if you opted in (every email has an unsubscribe link).
- To respond to your messages and correct errors in listings.
- To detect, prevent, and address abuse, spam, or security issues.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf, for the purposes above:
- Hosting & delivery — Cloudflare (site delivery) and Railway (application and database).
- File storage — Cloudflare R2, for tool logos and images.
- Email delivery — our email provider, to send transactional and newsletter emails.
- Payments — if and when paid features launch, a merchant-of-record payment provider will process transactions. We do not store your full card details.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of the service.
Cookies
We use only what is necessary to run the site. We do not set third-party advertising cookies. Your theme preference is kept in your browser's local storage rather than a cookie.
Data retention
- Published listings are kept for as long as the tool is listed.
- Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.
- Server logs are retained for a limited period by our providers, then rotated.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, or to unsubscribe from email, contact [email protected]. You can also unsubscribe using the link in any newsletter email.
International transfers
We and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
Children
The directory is intended for a general, professional audience and is not directed at children under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted where appropriate.
